Golf Tournament

The Paso Robles Rotary Golf Tournament is entering its 30th year. Seven years ago we decided that the proceeds would go to organizations that support OUR kids in Paso Robles. We have averaged $35,000 in NET proceeds for those last seven years. We’ve donated to the bigger organizations all the way down to individual departments at the middle and high school. What keeps us going every year is the impact our donations have on these groups. Our $1,000 check to Paso Youth Soccer almost brought the president to tears, he was so thankful to Rotary. At Lewis Middle School, the technology teacher uses our $2,500 donation to fund a short film festival for his students, parents, and the community. Morning Star Youth Ranch matches abandoned horses that are now being cared for by at-risk youth. The bonds that are created has changed these kids’ lives.
The stories just go on and on.
None of this would be possible without the gracious and caring members of our Rotary Club. Their donations for our silent auction and their volunteerism to make the event a success is all a collective effort.

Over the past 23 years, the Winemakers’ Cookoff has raised more than $500,000 for local youth scholarships. Last year, the Rotary’s Foundation awarded nearly $90,000 in high-school senior scholarships. Your support will ensure that the Rotary Club and the Cookoffs’ dedication to higher education for local youth.
As in years past, the exceptional winemakers of the Paso Robles region have very generously donated their time, wine, food, staff and culinary expertise to make this event truly memorable. Part of the fun and excitement has Cookoff wineries vying for coveted ‘People’s Choice’ and ‘Judges’ Choice’ awards.Paso Robles Scholarships

Every year the Paso Robles Rotary Club holds fund raising events to raise money for both local and international projects. We’re very proud to be able to grant scholarships to local high school seniors to help make their future education more affordable. The club awards financial scholarships for 4 year universities, community colleges, and vocational schools. In 2018 our club was honored to include the Cullen Black Family Trust as part of our funding for local scholarships. Mr. Black’s daughter, Mary Black Thompson was instrumental in reaching out to Rotary and facilitating this generous donation.
Paso Robles Old-Timers Luncheon

The Paso Robles Rotary Old-Timers BB-Q Lunch has been a staple with Paso Robles Rotary in conjunction with the Paso Robles Pioneer Day Parade. We have always had this luncheon/BB-Q as our meeting on the Thursday before the annual Paso Robles Pioneer Day Parade. The Paso Robles Pioneer Day parade is always held on the second Saturday in October. The history of the Paso Robles Pioneer Day Parade was that once a year, the farmers and ranchers from northern San Luis Obispo and southern Monterey Counties, would bring their families into Paso Robles and gather at the City Park to have a day of socializing and visiting with each other.
Today's Pioneer Day, those who gather after the parade at the city park, are treated to a free bean feed, put on by the Paso Robles Lions Club and the Boy Scouts. In the olden days, the meal was stew and biscuits. The Paso Robles Rotary Club tries to carry on the tradition by inviting eligible "old-timers," those who have been in the area for over 50 years, to come to our meeting place, the Paso Robles Event Center (Fairgrounds), for a day of socializing and seeing old friends and treated to a steak BB-Q. Vince Vanderlip and Mark Perry have been co-chairmen for many years. It takes many volunteers to pull this off. We have a kitchen crew, a BB-Q crew, bar crew, and other volunteers from Paso Robles Rotary Club to set up and take down the event. We now send out over 900 invitations to our beloved "old-timers."
